Better late than never. Overall the team met expectations and I was happy with my picks. We made it to round 1 of playoffs which is average for my teams. I still feel like we could have been a top two team this season, but we were pretty inconsistent and I never quite got the drafting down for this team. Drafting and somewhat weak shotcalling is probably what kept us down, so I guess that’s on me. Oh well, still a competitive season overall.
Lane — I went for a mid first round to be safe. I’d played with Lane in mini so I had a decent judge of his play/hero pool. I figured he was 90% of the value of an immortal mid and I’d get a better second round. I’d say that’s mostly accurate still. He plays active mid heroes, notably spirits and invoker but he has a decently wide pool. I think drafting wise it’d be better not to rely on last pick and just grab him one of those heroes earlier. Not toxic, not super PMA, somewhere in the range there but overall chill.
Zoompa — I went for Zoompa second round even though I wasn’t really planning on taking a 4 second. I’d heard good things both play and PMA wise, so seemed a safe enough pick. He’s pretty open to play whatever and had large impact with Kotl and Puck this season. Somewhat saved our drafting from being a disaster by giving people a few more things to ban. Super PMA, cool dude.
Two_Foot_Onion — Didn’t know this guy, but his profile seemed like he played a good amount of offlane. I facepalmed pretty hard when the first thing he says to me is that he’s “ultra toxic”, thankfully not really at all (except to the other team). He was actually pretty PMA and down to play whatever. This also made drafting kind of hard because he’d say yes to any hero even if he had never played it. All-in-all value for his rank for sure. Probably good if you have a hero spammer you want to protect, cause teams mostly banned his veno. You should definitely give him direction on item choice though (looking at you radiance clockwerk).
Old_Man_Techn1qu3 — Old Man continued my streak of getting great luck with random 5 players. Another one down to play whatever, even if its just lich 20 games in a row. Its honestly weird how every crusader-archon 5 I play with is so much better than the ancient players in my pubs.
StonedSpirit — “Best Carry: StonedSpirit”- Toth. Nuff said. I think I played my role pretty well this season. Definitely felt weak when I randomly would pick Slark or something else not braindead but mostly my failed games were more draft issues than play ones. I might not captain next season, so I’d probably be a good second/third round carry or offlaner.
